What a weekend of emotion.

Brands is my local track, I have watched many races here, but never actually driven on it.

The weather was completely against us on Friday, we had 4 sessions booked, and on each one there was drizzle or rain.

The track was wet and slippery, a number of drivers having incidents- I managed to keep all 4 sessions clean and I was gaining confidence each time we went out, by the end was pretty comfortable with the track.

Qualifying was scheduled for Saturday afternoon!

But as we all know , disaster struck at brands hatch around lunch time on Saturday, so the rest of the days schedule was cancelled.

RIP to the Marshall who never got to return home that evening, my thoughts go out to his friends and family.

Qualifying was then rescheduled for Sunday morning, again really pleased for the whole grid, as it was a clean qualifying for everyone! I qualified in 15th, which I was I initially a little disappointed with, but once I was back in the team garage, I found out the top 17 drivers qualified within 800th of a second of one another! This junior series couldn’t be any closer! Also this is the biggest grid of junior racers in the uk ever, and I was positioned right in the middle!

With the rescheduling overnight, it meant we now only had the one race at brands! This was Sunday afternoon.

So the race, The start was probably the best I have had in the JSCC gaining a couple of positions out the block, I was then locked in close battles for the majority of the race with Meakins, Sumpton and Gilham , moving up places, but losing them again and so on, we was heading into Druids 3 a Brest on some laps! In the last lap I managed to make the move stick and get across the line where I finished p11. The race was some of the most fun I’ve ever had in racing.

Overall we had a good race, we have a lot positives to take from this weekend very importantly, I also retain my Rookie championship lead by 12 points and now stand in 10th in the overall as well. Couldn’t be happier with that, now we are half way through the racing season.

On to silverstone international circuit next which I am very excited to race at in 3 weeks time!
