Brands Hatch JSCC finale weekend report

Friday testing we had a few issues with the car but despite this I got use to the track with a session being instructed by Howard hunt. But I still felt as though my car was down on power all day.

Saturday qualifying was difficult with a car that was down on power around a circuit that is so reliant on straight line speed this put me in an unfamiliar 24th place for the two races

The team got work, changing so many parts trying to find out what the problem was, luckily in the nick of time, they found it and sorted it, but still left me with an awful lot of work to do.

Race one also on Saturday was good with a car that was now working at full power I had my work cut out, but on lap one I was caught up in an incident this resulted my front left wing rubbing on the tyre making right hand turns very difficult despite this I was determined to stay on track and in the mix and managed to bring it home in p14. Up 10 places 6 of them before the first corner.

Race 2 would be my final race in the JSCC and my junior racing career. I wanted it to be a good one and that it was, starting again from 24th, I had an amazing start and got onto the back of my teammate Alfie and we sliced our way through the pack to attempt to secure as many championship points as possible. I finished p10 in the end up 14 places, having some great battles and overtaking on the way.

Overall the car issues early in the weekend put me on the back-foot but I tried my absolute best to win the rookie championship I missed out by 9 points in the end to a well deserving rookie champion of Jamie. With normal points I would’ve had it, even with the finishing places we both had here.

A big congrats to my team mate Alfie for 3rd in the overall championship I finished 7th.

Also big thank you to everyone who came down and said hi in the paddock.
