Race report

Qualifying:

My first ever car qualifying, only having completed my racing licence 48 hours earlier!!

I was aiming to use the first couple of laps to warm up the car and tyres and get a feel for the track, planning to do my flying laps in laps 3-6, always good advise incase there is any red flags later in the qualifying session!

I did the above as planned, good job, as on lap 6 red flag came out and that was the end of the session.

Race one I had a bad start and dropped to 17th from my grid spot of 14th but instantly started gaining positions back, I passed two cars in the same spot on laps one after the other. I was catching the group ahead when a red flag came out and I was in 12th but got pushed back a couple of positions to 15th after the lap count back.

On the restart I had an ok start and was keeping up with the cars ahead and even overtook a couple before the second red flag came out and that finished the race I finished 13th. Race two I got a good initial start from my qualifying position of 12th and going into the 2nd corner there was an incident ahead and I gained 3 positions, going to the top of the hill two people got on the dirty side of the track and both went off I gained the positions and was running in 8th a few laps later keeping up with people much more experienced than I.

A red flag came out and on the restart I couldn’t find second and dropped 10 places to p18 from then I decided to go for it and managed to overtake 6 people before the end of the race and finished in p12.
