First things first I’d like to say that Bert is an absolute legend.
Knockhill weekend report
Friday testing was interesting as we had 1 15 minute session one way and 2 the other at the end of the only clockwise session I lost the gears but that was fixed quickly. The next session was anti-clockwise which went well but on the final session there was oil on a kerb which I broke on spinning the car and had an incident. Apart from that the sessions were positive and I learnt a tonne.
Saturday was qualifying and the race in the anti-clockwise direction. Qualifying started off in a half wet and half dry circuit but then was was cut short after 3 laps where my radiator had an issue and I wasn’t able to get back out leaving me to start from P22 on the grid.
The anti-clockwise race started under rainy conditions and there was chaos throughout but I was able to avoid all of that and in addition to my improved starts managed to propel me up to P9 in the end.
Sunday was qualifying and the race for the clockwise direction and my qualifying session was going well until I lost gears for the second time this weekend so I started P14 for the race.
The race started and I got another good start I was able to avoid the first lap chaos and got my self into P11 after the safety car period ended and that would be where I would finish.
Overall a tricky weekend for myself but despite this I still retain 8th in the championship and also top rookie.
I like to say a big congrats to my teammate Alfie for his first win and a big thank you to the team as well.
We are back to Snetterton in only 2 weeks time and I can’t wait.
